Located down by the main town square in front of the red beautiful Rathaus building there is a market daily (except for Sunday). It starts in the morning and closes up in early afternoon. It is a delight to walk through the market place and just look at all the fresh produce, flowers, cheeses and sausages.
They always have a great selection of beautiful flowers in season. Don't you think these sunflowers are just gorgeous! Sunflowers make me happy and certainly put my mood into summer.
Then you got all the sausages and salamis.
A great selection of cheeses of course both Swiss as well as Italian. The huge cheese wheels of both Parmesan and Gryuere are so impressive in size.
All that fresh fruit and berries. Ah such a delight. Cherries are in season now and here at the market place you will find the largest and tastiest ones.
Some kind of home made lemonade of some sort I guess.
Today we are driving down to southern Switzerland on the boarder to Italy to look at a new car. We went through that severe hail storm with hail the size of golf balls. The damages were so extensive on our car that it was not worth repairing it. We drove to Sweden with the car and turned it in there as it was still on Swedish insurance. So we have now been car-less for a few weeks. Sure you have excellent ways of getting around by train in Switzerland but still we certainly are car people. The car gives us the freedom to explore in another way and you don't have to plan ahead either. We love all kinds of road trips so living without a car is simply not an option for us. We are lending a car from a friend today to drive down to Lugano.
