Fall in Switzerland also means it's time for cheese. As the leafs turn into more spectacular colors and keep swirling their way to the ground the amounts of cheese consumed seems to increase.
Switzerland is all about the love of cheese in so many ways. Cold weather means time for both Fondue and Raclette of course. Two national dishes based on melted cheese. Almost pure melted cheese and nothing but cheese. The love for cheese is something that does not have to be doubted here.
Yes, of course you also got the little Raclette molds. Raclette is the melted chunks of cheese that are scooped out of their mold once the cheese is completely melted with these kinds of rubber spatulas in bright colors. You grill a few vegetables such as bell peppers and potatoes with the raclette cheese but compared to the amounts of cheese that you consume it is nothing.
In our home we are focusing more on the wine than on the cheese. We have outgrown our wine rack that we keep in the kitchen so C has built this new one for us down in the basement. Feels kind of cool to start something that might even be called our very own wine cellar.
